I'm Melise — Mel to most people — a yoga teacher, educator and maker based in London.

I came to yoga as a child, unrolling a mat next to my mum while she followed her DVDs in the living room. Since then, I’ve spent years studying, applying and still discovering out how deep this path goes. I practise and teach Hatha Yoga in the Sri Vidya tradition, and for me, it has never been solely about what happens on the mat. Yoga is a way of living.

I trained as a primary school teacher in 2014 before completing an MA in Art, Education, Culture and Practice at UCL. I now lead a national learning programme at the Crafts Council. All of it shapes how I teach. I've always been curious about how people learn and grow, how they make sense of their lives, and the role creativity plays in that process.I'm drawn to the places where creativity and yoga meet—where both become ways of understanding ourselves more deeply and learning how to show up more fully in our own lives.

Since 2020 I've led retreats, run workshops around the UK and online, and taught in studios across London. What I care about most is helping people actually live yoga rather than just ‘do’ it — taking these ancient, potent teachings off the mat and into real life: work, relationships, the uncertain periods and the ordinary moments too.
